After two show-stopping performances at their 14th Birthday concert – ‘Songs & Sax’, followed a couple of weeks later at Adlington Carnival, Bolton Cancer Voices are looking to recruit yet more new members ahead of the commencement of their festive programme.
The Choir has just welcomed a new Musical Director – Philip O’Connor, who joins Accompanist – Stephen Martin: currently around 40-strong, membership of Bolton Cancer Voices is open to anyone who’s received a cancer diagnosis of some kind, at any point in life. People come from across the region and beyond; there are no auditions, you can be a seasoned performer or a shy novice and there’s no requirement to read music.
The Choir, which meets in the centre of Bolton, on Monday evenings – 7-30pm – 9pm, is free and endeavours to meet as many of the associated costs of membership as possible for people.
There are many health and well-being benefits to singing in a group, added to which this vibrant, friendly and supportive Choir affords cancer patients and cancer survivors the opportunity to connect with others who share a similar life-experience, in a fun, uplifting and inspirational way.
