IT WAS petrolhead heaven recently when the Lancashire Vehicle Club hosted a park run with a difference in Bolton.
Classic car owners and their vehicles took over Moss Bank Park and motoring fans crowded in to see the 200 plus classic, vintage and performance vehicles.
And amongst them was a 38-years-old Lotus which had emerged from a few years of hibernation at Howarth Towers with its proud owner – me.
The cars and trucks on display ranged from a genuine 1944 wartime Willys Jeep and a 1960s Ford Anglia (fitted with a huge American V8 engine and gigantic truck turbocharger) to near brand new Ferraris and even a Bentley or two.
Together with a few car mad pals I spent a couple of happy hours touring the ranks of shiny pride and joy vehicles until the typical British summers day brought things to a conclusion with a mild downpour.
